No. The jam is open to all experience levels, and you don’t need to arrive with a partner. Dances form and dissolve freely throughout the evening. The opening warm-up teaches the basics, and you’re always welcome to sit and watch until you feel like joining.
Welcome to Denver Contact Jam
Denver Contact Jam is a weekly gathering for anyone curious about or practicing Contact Improvisation, a movement form rooted in shared weight, listening, and spontaneous physical dialogue.
We are a community-led space, which means the people who show up are the ones who shape what this jam becomes. There is no single teacher or director. Instead, a rotating group of volunteers called Jam Support facilitates each session, holds the room, and tends to the community that makes it possible.
The jam runs weekly and is open to all experience levels. Whether you are new to contact or have been practicing for years, you are welcome here.

We meet every Monday from 6PM to 8PM at Wiggelruhm, 125 S. Sherman St., Denver, CO.
Pay what you can, $10 to $20. All proceeds help maintain the building we use. We believe in accessibility: contribute what you’re able, but no one is turned away.
Comfortable clothing you can move in that fully covers erogenous zones. Shirts are required for all genders. Long pants, knee pads, non-slippery layers, and a spare shirt are all good ideas. The full details live in our Community Agreements.
Denver Contact Jam has its own identity, distinct from individual teacher platforms or studio offerings. This site exists to give the jam a clear, community-centered home that reflects the people who collectively support and sustain it.
